Kshemendra is an esteemed Fellow of the Institute of Concrete Technology (FICT). He stands as one of the rare concrete professionals in India to have successfully completed the Diploma in Advanced Concrete Technology course conducted by the ICT (UK), which is globally acknowledged as the leading qualification in concrete technology, worldwide.

After graduating in Civil Engineering from NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, he moved to Mumbai to carve out a career in the world of bridges and buildings. Embarking on his professional journey as a quality control engineer at Simplex Concrete Piles, Kshemendra honed his concrete mix design skills, igniting an enduring passion for concrete. As head of technical services of Indian Rayon’s Cement division (Now Ultratech Cements) for the Mumbai region, he played a pivotal role in launching India’s pioneering 53-grade cement, Birla Super. A trailblazer in the domain of Ready-Mixed Concrete (RMC), he led the Mumbai business of Unitech Prefab Ltd., establishing India’s first full value-chain RMC operations and cementing RMC as a reliable partner for the Indian construction sector.

Founding member of RMC Readymix India, a subsidiary of RMC Group plc UK, Kshemendra led sales and marketing, achieving record-breaking sales. Later, assuming the role of Head Technical, he undertook extensive training in the UK, on the global production and technical systems of ready-mixed concrete. Kshemendra played a lead role in the revision of the Indian standards for Ready-Mixed Concrete (IS 4926) as a member of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Cement and Concrete sub-committee.

While the initial phase of Kshemendra’s career was defined by practical demonstrations of concrete technology and innovative ventures, he displayed exemplary leadership skills as the Managing Director of Elkem India. Pioneering microsilica use across construction segments, he fueled revenue and profit growth. Merging Borregaard’s Indian operations with Elkem, he established Orkla India. Later, as the Managing Director, he transformed Sapa Extrusions India, part of Sapa Group – the world’s leading Aluminium extruder, into the country’s premier destination for extruded Aluminium solutions, registering a ten-fold revenue growth in less than six years.
